Mioli privacy policy

In short

  • Mioli has no account, no sign-in and no server. The app does not send any of your data to us.
  • What Mioli keeps stays on your iPhone: your rules, your habit and approximate Screen Time data.
  • Exact usage minutes exist only inside Mioli’s Screen Time report extension, which iOS runs in isolation and which cannot save or send anything.
  • The camera turns on only during a push-up pause. Frames are processed in memory and are never recorded, stored or uploaded.
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. Nothing is sold or shared.
  • You can revoke Screen Time access in iOS Settings, and deleting the app deletes everything.

1. Who is responsible

Mioli is an iPhone app developed by Rodrigo Heineck Costa Ribeiro, an individual developer in Brazil. For any privacy matter, write to contato@mioli.app.

In this policy, “we” means the developer, and “Mioli” or “the app” means the app and its extensions on your iPhone.

2. What Mioli does not do

  • It does not ask you to register, create an account or sign in.
  • It has no server of its own and does not send the data obtained on your iPhone to us or to anyone else. This includes everything that comes from iOS Screen Time (Apple’s FamilyControls, ManagedSettings and DeviceActivity APIs).
  • It does not use your data for advertising, ad measurement, analytics or profiling.
  • It does not sell data and does not share data with data brokers.
  • It contains no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.

3. What stays on your iPhone

Mioli keeps the data below only on your device, in an app area (the App Group) shared by the app and its extensions. None of it leaves the iPhone through Mioli.

3.1 Screen Time

  • For you only. Mioli asks for Screen Time access with individual authorization, which you approve in the iOS prompt. It never requests child authorization and does not use Family Sharing.
  • Your choices. The apps and websites you want to use less, and the ones that stay always allowed, are chosen in Apple’s picker. iOS gives Mioli only opaque tokens, which are stored on your iPhone. Mioli never stores the name or identifier of any app you choose or that gets blocked.
  • Exact minutes. They exist only inside Mioli’s report (the DeviceActivityReport extension), which iOS runs in isolation. Inside Mioli, it shows your minutes, the apps that took the most time, progress on each rule, the last 7 days, the weekly summary and how Mioli’s health was calculated, but it cannot save or send anything.
  • Approximate steps. Outside the report, Mioli only learns when the apps you chose pass steps of 5 minutes or more (for example, “the selected apps reached 25 minutes today at 14:05”). These steps are kept for 14 days and are used to apply your rules, send the notices you turned on, estimate Mioli’s mood in the app and the widget, avoid counting time spent in the limited apps as habit time while the timer runs, and show the Diagnostics screen.
  • What you do on the shield. How many times you tapped Close, your pauses and the apps you marked “Always allow” (only the opaque token) are kept for up to 60 days, so Mioli can celebrate and build your weekly summary. Closing gives no points and unlocks nothing.

3.2 Camera (push-up pause)

  • Mioli asks for the camera only when you start your first push-up pause.
  • The camera never turns on by itself: only during a pause you started, with the iOS camera indicator on.
  • The front camera counts push-ups with Apple’s Vision framework, on the iPhone itself. Each frame is processed in memory and discarded. No photo, video or image is ever recorded, stored or uploaded.

3.3 Habit

The habit you chose, its goal, timer sessions, minutes you enter by hand and the habits you have already formed, with their stickers. Habit minutes come only from Mioli’s timer or from what you type: Mioli does not read Apple Health or any other app. Session history is kept for up to 400 days.

3.4 Rules and settings

Your rules (Manhã leve, a morning cap, and Limite diário, a daily limit), their strictness, your push-up style, the pauses you used, the current shield decision (which rules apply right now), the name you gave Mioli, the theme, your schedule and your answer to “how much time a day do you think you spend on social media?”, used only for a comparison shown to you in the report.

3.5 Notices

The habit reminder and the “5 minutes left” and “1 minute left” notices are local notifications, created on the iPhone itself, and they appear only if you allow them. Mioli does not use a notification server.

3.6 Diagnostics

The Diagnostics screen, in Settings, shows short technical records, such as a shield decision or a read failure, to help understand what happened. It does not export or share anything.

4. Subscription and App Store

Downloading Mioli and the optional Mioli Plus subscription are handled by Apple, under Apple’s privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details or your Apple Account: the app only checks on the iPhone whether the subscription is active. The subscription never charges for access to your usage information, for unblocking or for extra screen time.

If you turned on sharing analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may show us aggregated statistics and crash reports for the app, which do not identify you.

5. iPhone backups

If you back up your iPhone (to iCloud or a computer), iOS itself may include Mioli’s data in that backup, as it does with other apps. That backup is yours, is protected by your Apple Account, and Mioli has no access to it.

6. How to turn off and delete

  • Screen Time: you can revoke Mioli’s access at any time in iOS Settings, under Screen Time. This removes every Mioli restriction at once.
  • Camera: Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera.
  • Notices: Settings › Notifications › Mioli.
  • Delete everything: when you delete the app, iOS removes all of Mioli’s data from the iPhone, including its extensions’ data.

7. Your rights (LGPD)

Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (Lei nº 13.709/2018, art. 18) gives you, among others, the right to:

  • confirm whether your data is processed, and access it;
  • correct incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data;
  • request anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary data or data processed in breach of the law;
  • request data portability;
  • know with whom your data was shared;
  • be told that you may refuse consent, and withdraw consent at any time.

Because Mioli sends nothing to us, we hold no data about you on any server to show, correct or delete. Everything the app keeps is on your iPhone, under your control: you see your data in the app, change what you want, revoke permissions (Screen Time, camera and notices) in iOS Settings and delete everything by deleting the app. What happens on the device depends on those permissions, which you grant and can withdraw whenever you want.

For any request or question, write to contato@mioli.app. You may also file a complaint with Brazil’s data protection authority (ANPD) at gov.br/anpd.

8. Who Mioli is for

Mioli is for adults (18+) who want to use their own iPhone less. The person who installs it is the only person it affects.

Mioli is not a parental-control app. It does not use Family Sharing and is not designed or offered for managing another person’s device, or for use in a workplace or school.

9. This website

This website is static: it uses no cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, external fonts or forms. The hosting provider, Vercel Inc., receives technical data from each visit, such as IP address, browser and requested page, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Vercel’s privacy policy. This data may be processed outside Brazil. We do not use it for anything.

10. Changes to this policy

If Mioli changes how it handles data, this page will be updated first, with the new date at the top. Important changes will also be announced in the app.
